Delete your account

You can delete your KilnRun account at any time. There is no waiting period and no penalty. Once you confirm deletion, your personal details are permanently removed and the action cannot be undone.

Option 1 — Delete from inside the app or web

Open KilnRun (mobile app or web at kilnrun.com) and sign in.
Go to the Profile tab (mobile) or your Account page (web).
Scroll to the bottom and choose Delete Account (mobile) or Delete my account (web).
Confirm the deletion — on the web you type DELETE to confirm. Your account is closed and your personal details are removed immediately.

Want a copy of your data first? On the web, the same Account page has Download my data, which saves everything KilnRun holds about you as a JSON file.

Option 2 — Email us

If you can't access the app (forgot password, lost device, account locked), email [email protected] from the email address associated with your account. Subject line: "Delete my account".

We verify the request matches the account email and complete the deletion within 30 days (typically within 24 hours). You will receive an email confirmation when deletion is complete.

What gets deleted

The following is permanently removed:

Your name, email address, phone number, and profile photo.
Your password and sign-in credentials (magic links, password reset links, MFA codes), and your sign-in history.
Your studio memberships — you are removed from every studio, and any recurring membership billing is cancelled.
Your door-access credential at every studio, and the link between you and past door entries.
Your saved payment cards and your customer record at our payment processor (Stripe).
Your in-app notifications and the push-notification registrations for your devices.

What is retained (and why)

Some data is retained for legal and operational reasons, de-identified from you:

Studio work records — pieces, their photos and firing history, journal entries, and class or event bookings stay in the studio's records, attached to an anonymous "Deleted User" instead of your name and contact details.
Financial / tax records — Stripe transactions, invoices, refunds. Required by US and EU tax law for up to 7 years. Your name and email are removed from these records; what remains is the transaction itself (amount, date, studio).
Anonymized usage analytics — counts of pieces fired, kiln loads, etc., with no link back to you. These help us understand platform-wide usage trends.
Audit logs — security events (failed logins, admin actions) are retained for 90 days with personal identifiers stripped.

If your studio uses KilnRun

If you are a member of a studio that runs on KilnRun, deleting your KilnRun account does not delete records the studio itself keeps about you (attendance, firing logs, billing history). The studio is the data controller for those records — contact the studio owner directly to request their records be deleted. KilnRun is a software platform; we do not have authority to remove records on behalf of studio operators.
