Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using KilnRun ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

KilnRun is a pottery studio management platform that provides piece tracking, booking management, member management, and related tools for pottery studios and their members. The Service includes mobile applications (iOS and Android) and a web application.

2a. Not a Safety Device

KilnRun is not a safety device. When KilnRun reports on kiln state — for example that a firing has completed or that a kiln is cooling — those reports reflect data received from the kiln's controller. They are not a confirmation that the kiln is safe to open, touch, or work near. Kilns reach approximately 2300°F and remain dangerously hot for many hours after a firing ends. You must always rely on the kiln's own controls, temperature readouts, and physical indicators before opening or reaching into a kiln. If any KilnRun notification, dashboard reading, or automation ever contradicts what the kiln's controller is showing, trust the kiln, not KilnRun. You agree that KilnRun is not liable for injury, property damage, or loss arising from reliance on KilnRun as a source of physical-safety information.

3. Account Registration

To use certain features, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information
• Maintain the security of your password
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
• Accept responsibility for all activities under your account

4. User Content

You retain ownership of all content you upload, including photos, descriptions, glaze recipes, and notes ("User Content"). By uploading User Content, you grant KilnRun a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, store, and process your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service.

You represent that:

• You own or have rights to all User Content you upload
• Your User Content does not violate any third party's rights
• Your User Content does not contain illegal, harmful, or offensive material

5. AI Features

The Service includes AI-powered features for piece analysis, volume estimation, and description generation. You acknowledge that:

• AI-generated content (descriptions, dimensions, classifications) is approximate and may contain errors
• AI analysis of your photos is performed by third-party AI services
• You are responsible for reviewing and correcting AI-generated content before sharing it publicly

6. Studio Membership

When you join a studio on KilnRun, you agree that the studio's staff may access your name, contact information, piece records, and booking history at their studio for operational purposes.

7. Bookings and Cancellations

Bookings made through KilnRun are subject to the individual studio's policies. KilnRun facilitates booking but is not responsible for studio availability, cancellation policies, or refunds.

8. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
• Upload viruses, malware, or other harmful code
• Scrape, data mine, or extract data from the Service
• Impersonate another person or entity
• Use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm others
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service

9. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, features, algorithms, and technology, is owned by KilnRun and protected by intellectual property laws. Patent Pending. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the Service without our written consent.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, KILNRUN SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF REVENUE, OR DAMAGE TO POTTERY PIECES.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless KilnRun from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms. You may delete your account at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately, but provisions regarding intellectual property, limitation of liability, and indemnification survive.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of King County, Washington.

15. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
